After spending 20 years within the lifting gear industry, Peter Tibble formed Safe Lifting Gear Ltd which was incorporated on June 22nd 1995. From small beginnings in a back bedroom and an old bicycle shed, Safe Lifting Gear Ltd now operates from a combined office and workshop in Maidstone Road Grays.
Safe Lifting Gear Ltd began trading in Thurrock initially specialising in the supply, manufacture, installation, repair, testing and inspection of lifting equipment.
During its second year of trading, and after careful planning, the company decided to broaden its services to customers and included access equipment, i.e. suspended cradles, gantries, life-lines etc., to its range of products and services. This has proved to be an outstanding success with owners of tall buildings where maintenance personnel, especially window cleaners, need to gain access to glass fascias, skylights, domes etc and where the use of personal protective equipment is necessary.
AWARDS
In 1996, Safe Lifting Gear Ltd won the New Business Award in the annual Thurrock Business Awards and in the following years won The Health and Safety Award (1997) and the Training & Development Award (1998). The latest award was in the Business 2 Business Category (2009).
